Faculty Positions
Professor of Practice in Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Lehigh University is seeking a 9-month full-time, non-tenure track Professor of Practice to contribute to our undergraduate general chemistry instruction beginning in the fall of 2019.  This Professor of Practice position is a non-voting faculty position and has responsibilities focused on teaching and service.  The initial appointment is anticipated to be for three years, with an expectation of renewal based on acceptable performance.  The position requires a Ph.D. in chemistry, significant teaching experience, and expertise in the use of current teaching methods in general chemistry courses.  The successful candidate will work with the Director of General Chemistry and the General Chemistry Laboratory Manager for the continued development, delivery, and daily operation of the general chemistry lecture and lab courses.  Service contributions to the Department of Chemistry, college, and/or university are also expected.  Options for contributing to the instruction of other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, in addition to performing the required general chemistry duties, may also be possible.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Biochemistry (open rank)

The Department of Chemistry at Lehigh University invites applications for an open faculty position in the sub-discipline of biochemistry, broadly defined.  There are opportunities to develop collaborations within the department and across the university in the fields of membrane biochemistry, biophysics, chemical biology, material sciences, and biomolecular engineering.  A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field is required at the time of employment.  Our Chemistry department embodies faculty members who have impressive records of scholarship and research achievements.  Post-doctoral experience is required.  Our faculty are strongly committed to teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses.
